Below are antidotal stories – not to be considered claims – per FDA disclaimer guidelines.

The Process of Unlocking the Nutrients in Your Food: The purpose of chewing your food and your stomach's action (secreting acid and mixing it with your food) is to break down your food into tiny, tiny pieces so that when the pieces are pushed out of the stomach (as chyme) they are small enough for the small intestine's action (mixing the chyme with the pancreatic enzymes that are secreted from the pancreas into the small intestine as soon as the chyme arrives — or mixing the chyme with the pancreatic enzymes you took thirty minutes before you began eating). This action in your small intestine breaks the chyme down further into individual nutrients (including amino acids) that are “locked up” in your food. This process works well in healthy people but when you are suffering from a disease such as cancer this complex process is compromised.

Two Methods to Help Your Digestion: For those of you who are suffering with a disease my preferred recommendation for helping your digestion is that you mechanically break down your food with a Vitamix machine. For the times when you are unable to use a machine to assist your digestion, the best option is to supplement your stomach acid with Betaine Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) Capsules. Please keep in mind that the larger and more complex your meal the more challenging it is to accomplish the process of digesting it. Smaller, simple meals are the better way to go. Adjust the dosage of the HCL Capsules accordingly (for instance, take an additional tablet when you have a large and complex meal such as on Thanksgiving).

Directions for Taking Pancreatic Enzymes: Always take your pancreatic enzymes 30 minutes or more before starting your meal to allow the enzymes to pass through your stomach and be waiting for the chyme as it arrives in the small intestine.

Warning: Do not take HCL Capsules and Pancreatic Enzymes Together. Pancreatic enzymes are alkalizing and, if they arrive in  the stomach at the same time as the HCL Capsules, the pancreatic enzymes will reduce the capability of the HCL Capsules. Always take your pancreatic enzymes 30 minutes before you begin eating and take your HCL Capsules after you take your first bite of food.

Reference: What is chyme? Online Encyclopedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chyme

Encyclopedia “After hours of mechanical and chemical digestion, food has been reduced into chyme. As particles of food become small enough, they are passed out of the stomach at regular intervals into the small intestine, which stimulates the pancreas to release fluid containing a high concentration of bicarbonate.”
