My holistic doctor, who I see for goiter, told me to take DHEA and Pregnenolone, assuring me it wouldn’t affect the hormone sensitive tumor

Hi Dale: My holistic doctor, who I see for goiter, told me to take DHEA and Pregnenolone, assuring me it wouldn't affect the hormone sensitive tumor I have. However, I read, after taking it for a month, that both of those hormones are converted to estrogen. I stopped taking them. Was that the right thing to do?

Yes

Dehydroepiandrosterone
Hormone
Dehydroepiandrosterone/dehydroepiandrostenedione, also known as androstenolone as well as 3?-hydroxyandrost-5-en-17-one or 5-androsten-3?-ol-17-one, is an endogenous steroid hormone. In its pharmaceutical drug form it is called prasterone. Wikipedia
Pregnenolone
Pregnenolone, also known as P5, is an endogenous steroid hormone. It is the precursor of the progestogens, mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids, androgens, and estrogens, as well as the neuroactive steroids. Wikipedia

Questions: I rely on nuts and seeds for protein, eating about 3/4 – 1 cup per day. I have pre-diabetes and don't eat starchy carbs.

I would recomend 4 ounces of nuts and seeds raw, unsalted an soaked in distilled water, then rinced and drained.

You are getting a lot of fat in the nuts and seeds. Protein is not a big deal and as long as you are getting enought calories to maintain your weight you are getting plenty of protein.

You need to learn the truth about how to eat a plant base diet, in my research I found starch is not a problem for diabetics, you can actually resolve diabetes with plant-based diet.

Could those nuts and seeds have a hormone effect on the tumor? If so, what should I eat for protein? I do eat 1/2 cup green peas at your suggestion. I am confused about my diet.

As you can see below a cup of choosing Black Beans VS Almonds

Second, have you heard of DIM (estrogen blocking supplement)? Should I take that?

Not needed if you are following a whole food plant based diet with not free oils according to my understanding of your needs.

For the goiter, without more details, I would supplement Iodoral.
